Our Cleaning Process
Step 1 — Pre‑Clean Inspection
We begin with a detailed inspection of the carpet or upholstery you’d like cleaned. We identify the fibre type, check the backing material, and assess the level of soiling. This allows us to choose the safest and most effective cleaning method, along with the ideal products to use
Step 2 — Power Vacuuming
Next, we carry out a thorough vacuum using a high‑powered machine equipped with a HEPA filter and a rotating brush. Before vacuuming, we loosen matted fibres with a stiff brush to release trapped dirt. This helps us remove as much dust, grit, and dry soil as possible before any cleaning solutions are applied.
Step 3 — Treating Stubborn Stains
We apply targeted pre‑spray treatments to any stubborn stains. These solutions break down the particles that cause staining, making them far easier to remove during the hot water extraction stage.
Step 4 — Pre‑Clean Treatment
We then apply the most suitable pre‑spray across the entire area we are cleaning, based on fibre type and soil level. This treatment breaks down remaining dirt, draws it to the surface, and kills harmful bacteria, dust mites, and carpet moths. It also sanitises the fibres and helps eliminate unpleasant odours.
Step 5 — Hot Water Extraction Cleaning
Using a powerful hot water extraction machine, we inject hot water and a citric‑acid rinse deep into the fibres. A high‑powered vacuum immediately extracts the solution along with loosened soil. The citric‑acid rinse ensures all pre‑spray detergents are removed, leaving your carpet or upholstery fibres soft, conditioned, and free from sticky residue. When cleaning wool carpets, we add liquid lanolin to replace natural oils, helping protect and strengthen the fibres.
Step 6 — Fibre Grooming & Customer Inspection
To finish, we groom the carpet with a specialist brush to lift, restore, and set the fibres. This gives a beautifully even, springy finish. We will only do this on upholstery if the fabric has a pile and needs to be groomed. We will then invite you to inspect the results to ensure you’re completely satisfied. We’ll also share expert advice on maintaining your carpet and upholstery, including proper vacuuming techniques and tips for dealing with future stains.

Blast Drying
Once cleaning is complete, we can blast‑dry the carpet so it’s ready to use immediately.
Stain Shield Treatment
After cleaning and drying, we can apply a polymer stain shield that forms an invisible barrier against most household spills — including coffee and red wine. It also helps reduce wear, prevents UV bleaching, and makes dry soil easier to remove during routine vacuuming.
